A brief summary

Thanks for taking the time to check us out. Here are the facts you need to know about us:

Why it works: We are a London based tech start-up and we created something different. We brought together writers and coders. This is not a normal or conventional approach to writing, but it is highly effective.

The impact: It improves the writing age of a child fast. In private tests, this programme increases the writing age by 2 to 3 years in a period of 3 to 6 months.

The results: We believe those that use this product have a disproportionately high likelihood of succeeding in their goals, whether it is to pass exams or to improve in their creative writing skills.

Why sign up? You have nothing to lose. Right now our waitlist is open so there is no commitment now. When the product goes public, you can cancel for up to 5 lectures into the e-bootcamp - no other bootcamp we know of allows this: to cancel once you have started.

Who does it apply to? It applies to any child between 5 and 11, who wants to expand their vocabulary and improve their creative writing skills. It is particularly helpful for children studying for their 7 plus, 8 plus and 11 plus exams, and will likely make a material difference in the outcome they achieve.

Is it like a tutor? No. A tutor is a personalised coach. This is an e-bootcamp. However, this will improve your child's writing dramatically, and your tutor (if you have one) can then work on refining those improvements. If you don't have a tutor, this is a great, perhaps essential, product for you, as it can support your child and help them keep up with others who do have tutors.

“Writing is thinking. To write well is to think well, and the better you think, the better you will write.”

—Samuel Johnson, English polymath who created the dictionary in 1755

Why do we do what we do?

We all invest a lot in our children. From love, to time and if you have the resources, even substantial sums of money.

That investment has two potential returns: the first is extrinsic - they pass exams, access prestigious schools and progress to top tier universities.

The second, perhaps more valuable in the long term, is intrinsic - they learn to love writing, and that in turn makes them a thinker.

For writers are thinkers.

There is no greater gift today, when technology is changing the world, than to help your child become a thinker.

Why does the programme work?

Better than reading: universal advice for young writers is to read more. However, when it comes to learning to write fast, reading is too slow. Even the most voracious reader won't digest enough words to make them an excellent writer. Our system speeds up the learning of relevant vocabulary.

AI and neuroscience to develop writing: using AI and neuroscience we have built a programme that improves the process of applying that vocabulary to writing.

Parent-centric: we put the parent and the centre of the process. Our step by step programme is implemented by a parent. We have check-in calls at key stage posts to ensure the programme is working and to provide tips. Done from home it saves time, and ensures the child can do the independent work needed to get familiar with writing well. Read our blog here on the importance of parental support.

Excellent support: we support parents and are just a video or audio call away. Press our need help button, and you can schedule a call with us straight away.

The two part Bootcamp, lets parents use our proprietary system to teach kids how to write and then allows children to use the software to practise lots of exercises, but in small bite-size pieces.

“You can make anything by writing.”

—C.S. Lewis, author of the Narnia series

Why enrol in the programme?

We have around 20 spaces per trial programme, and estimate we will have around four trials, before launching to the wider public.

We are now rolling out a series of trials. We will invite users in a series of batches to use our programme. The trial will be priced at a significant discount to the final product.

The advantages of signing up to our trial is that your child is one of the first to benefit - useful if you have an exam you are preparing for.

The disadvantages of signing up for the trial is that we are still working on the product. That said, we believe even the early prototypes will improve writing fast.

Signing up early, also means you will likely be amongst the first live customers invited to use the product when launched.

Sign up to the waiting list: let us know in the options whether you wish to participate in the trial version or not.

“The best inheritance a parent can give to his children is a few minutes of their time each day.”

What are the selection criteria?

There is high demand for effective educational products.

We anticipate substantial demand, including for our trials. Selection on our waitlist are based on two criteria:

  1. First we are focused on improving the product and want users with different backgrounds. Then we will prioritise those who signed up earlier.
  2. Finally, we are running a series of trials, before a public launch. When we launch the final product, we will notify individuals on our waitlist first.
Who is it suitable for?

This initial trial is suitable for kids between the ages of 6 and 9, though we allow parents to judge the suitability for their child.

It covers material needed for the 7 plus and 8 plus exams in the UK.

More advanced versions that we intend to roll out will cater for the 11 plus.

By signing up to the waitlist you will be notified of these future releases.

How do we teach?

The videos are typically under five minutes aimed at the parent. The parent can then help the child understand the lesson and practise on the Bootcamp App at Inkgenius.

As a parent, you are a unique teacher - you care, you have the most time with them, and you understand them - but most importantly you care.

Inkgenius gives you transparency, accountability and control.

You can judge if the programme is working for your child, and speak to us if you need help.

Once familiar, a child can continue practising exercises on their own. If you are stuck, we can recommend suitable solutions.

Will it complement my existing lectures?

Some of you may have your child enrolled in a state school, or in a private school and many of you may have also engaged a tutor.

Our programme works in partnership with your resources.

You do not have to change your existing arrangements, as it is designed to work in parallel.

Do curious parents raise smarter children?

At a time when techniques to achieve goals are changing fast, it pays to investigate new approaches to old problems. With the demanding nature of modern education it helps to find more effective methods of teaching challenging subjects, like creative writing.

The field of education is changing fast, and we believe programmes like this will revolutionise learning.

Tutoring as a solution?

Many parents rely on tutoring to help their children. Tutors can be excellent - but it is a wide, unregulated market, and ultimately landing the right one could be a function of luck.

The trouble with only using tutors is that it does not take advantage of technology. Any process in today's world that does not take advantage of modern technology, is simply less efficient - modern writing tools, like Inkgenius, track the vocabulary used and propose new words and phrases, growing the child's writing competence exponentially faster.

The capacity to carry out small, regular, personalised exercises at home is invaluable. We are not against tutoring, but we feel that tutors, like all of us in an AI driven world, will need to add greater value in the future, by dealing with a student's more complex needs.
